SHOP THE POST:
Black Ruffle Dress (Maternity but could totally be worn after) c/o / Jean Jacket / Earrings / Necklace / Shoes / Purse
Even though this dress is maternity, I know I'll be wearing it even after the baby comes. The material is super soft, stretchy, and almost cooling on the skin which will make it perfect for summer. I also love the length, it's the perfect dress to show off a fun pair of shoes! Plus, being an LBD, it's also the perfect dress to wear for any occasion. You can easily dress it up with a a pair of pumps, statement earrings, and a clutch, or keep it casual like I did here with a jean jacket and simple shoes. I wore this look strolling along Newbury Street the other weekend for my birthday, where I was much more interested in baby items than things for myself!
I've found the bigger the bump gets, the less I want to look at clothes for myself, which is not something I've ever experienced before. Don't get me wrong, I love this little growing addition to my body but it's not quite as fun to dress. I haven't purchased a ton of maternity items but I've found while browsing that a lot of the items are very matronly and not my style. Luckily, Ingrid and Isabel have maternity clothes that are very on trend and don't look super "maternity", in my opinion. This maxi dress looks so comfortable for pre or post baby, this dress will be coming to the blog soon and comes in tons of colors, a good stripe can't be beat, and this tee looks so cozy!
In other news, I've been feeling very accomplished this week already. There is so much to do before the baby gets here and I was starting to feel very overwhelmed since I know my time will be focused elsewhere once she arrives. I made a long to-do list that includes everything, from installing the carseat to getting my annual eye exam. I started making appointments and checking things off and while there is still a lot I want to get accomplished, the list already makes me feel better, anyone else like that?
