SHOP THE POST:
When Mike and I found out we were expecting we decided we were going to wait until after the shower to start buying anything for the baby, based on advise from friends and family. I definitely had doubt in myself (especially when we find out it was a little girl!) but I've very proud with how little we have purchased so far! After the shower, we will reassess and see what else we still may need but until then, it's mostly just window shopping. We have purchased and been gifted a few things so far that have come in handy when preparing the nursery for little girl but I'm anxiously awaiting the shower so we can finish getting everything all set and feel prepared for her arrival.
Having friends who have already had babies has been so helpful with prepping for the baby. So many of the "must have" products have changed over the years so having knowledge from people who have recently been through this is priceless and always welcomed. One thing that we heard from countless friends was to get some sort of jumper for when the baby gets a little older. I've heard it's perfect to keep them entertained and give them a little exercise, which can help with sleeping (fingers crossed!). We didn't register for one since I figured it was something we could purchase when the time came so when Evenflo reached out about working together, it was perfect!
Since we have an open floor plan, I'll be able to see the baby from nearly everywhere as I'm going about my daily routine. Whether I am cooking in the kitchen, cleaning the living room, or doing work at the dining room table, the little one will be near by, jumping and playing. It's not very heavy so I know we'll also be able to move the jumper on the back deck or in another room to keep baby occupied and having fun as we move about the house.
I don't know if it's a good or bad thing but our dog, Libby, already loves it. She made about 80% of these pictures unusable because she is so interested in the ExerSaucer. I have a feeling she's going to be a little confused about which toys are baby's and which toys are her's.
