If you're following along on Instagram (if not, you can here!) you'll know that Mike and I spent half of last week down in North Carolina with his family for a wedding. We stayed on the beach in Emerald Isle which is part of the Outer Banks and it was so beautiful. The water was warm, the sand was perfect, and the people were so nice. We already have plans to head back one day!

One of my favorite parts about traveling is discovery new places. Before we go on a trip, I research the area (mostly on Pinterest) to see what cool sights, attractions, and places there are. When I was looking up Emerald Isle, the Bogue Inlet Pier kept popping so I knew we had to make a stop. Luckily, it was just a five minute drive from where we were staying so it was easy to pop over!

Emerald Isle is not too far from the area where Nicholas Sparks lives and where most of his books/movies were based on/filmed, so I couldn't help but constantly feel like I was in one of his stories. This pier was no exception. It was easy to see where Mr. Sparks gets his inspiration!

I bought this dress a few years ago for a trip to Miami and it's always a go-to for beach vacations. The way it flows and billows in the wind along with the bright color makes it the perfect contrast to the beach. While this exact color isn't available, I have found a few that I'm loving and linked them below!
