Mike and I have been trying to make a conscious effort to explore New England more on the weekends and days off. We both grew up here but there is still so much we have yet to explore and places we would like to explore again, together. This past Monday was President's Day so we decided to head out to Lenox, MA in the Berkshires. I have heard wonderful things and seen some beautiful pictures and neither of us had ever been!

We started the day at The Mount which is the old home of Edith Wharton. Along with most of the Berkshires, the best time to go is the summer, but the grounds were still so stunning covered in snow. The house is only open for tours in the warmer months but the grounds are open to the public all year.  We were the only ones there (not surprising!) which made for a super peaceful walk around the grounds, at least the parts that we could get to. Once the snow melts and the flowers bloom, we will most certainly be back to explore more.

To warm up after a cold walk, we went to downtown Lenox and settled on the cutest bakery, Haven, to get a sweet treat and a cup of coffee (see what we got on my Instagram!). They serve lunch as well and everything looked and smelled delicious! This cute spot is also on our list to go to next time for lunch!

The town is famous for it's mansions, spas, and Tanglewood, where Boston Symphony Orchestra spends their summers playing outdoors. We can't wait to visit again in the warmer months when the town is fully open and vibrant.
